Minimalism

Our Minimalism Journey

This is my attempt at documenting our journey towards minimalism. In the spirit of simplicity, I thought I would show you what that means to us:

By extreme hoarder, I mean a house where you cannot even walk inside and even requires a storage unit outside of the home and garage to store even more stuff.

In contrast, here is an example of the other side of the spectrum of a lady that I greatly admire – Bea Johnson, living a very nearly zero-waste minimalist lifestyle along with her husband and 2 kids.

As for us, we want to go 3/4 of the way to that extreme minimalism. I love the decluttering, but not sure how far we can and want to take it to zero waste. I am not excited to do my own makeup and toothpaste, but most of the other stuff looks appealing. We shall see what that balance is for us as we move in that direction little by little and find our “balance” point on the scale.

We will share with you the phases we go through while going through this process – inclusive of our wins and the difficulties that we encounter. I hope this helps you get inspired about your own journey towards simplification!

Follow the journey along, starting at Phase I.

And you, where do you fall on the spectrum? Do you have goals in this regard?
